Pasta Shoppe Review and Giveaway

This is a review and giveaway that no one is going to want to miss! I was sent a box full of fun noodles from The Pasta Shoppe and I was surely not disappointed! I love pasta (what's not to love??) and now I've fallen in love with this brand. They don't just make cute pastas-- they make gourmet pastas too with flavors like spinach basil garlic angel hair and they even have GLUTEN-FREE pasta. One of out favorite things they carry are Meringues! Perfect for a light, sweet dessert that melts in your mouth (we tried the Vanilla Bean ones and they were amazing)! I decided I had enough treats and noodles to share with my loved ones and everyone who tried them LOVED them!

Firmoo Sunglasses Review

I've been chosen to review a pair of Firmoo sunglasses! From their website, "Firmoo.com is the world's most popular online eyeglasses store. Years of expertise in optical industry enable Firmoo.com to offer varieties of prescription eyewear to the consuming public in high quality yet at extremely affordable prices." From my experience with their company and glasses so far, I think that's fairly true! Here's the pair I received for my review:

Storyteller Engraving Review

Recently I had the chance to work with Storyteller Engraving, a company that makes custom wine bottles! This company makes it possible to personalize your wine bottles in the most amazing way by engraving your personal message or picture right on the bottle! Whether you want one for a personal and special occasion, or for a company, or large group, Storyteller Engraving can make something perfect for you! The best part is after you drink the wine, you have the bottle to save for a special keepsake!

From their website, "There are millions of stories happening every day around the world, but only the ones that are specially created and captured can be passed on and remembered. We’re a group of wine enthusiasts that believe every special moment in life goes with a great bottle of wine. Therefore, we engrave stories onto wine bottles. We help our customers create and capture their meaningful moments in life, so those can be kept, treasured, and shared.

We engrave fine art quality text, symbols, pictures, or drawings on our selected wine bottles. Each bottle engraving is uniquely customized and designed that holds a special memory, or can help create special surprises and stories."

This would be such a great wedding present or anniversary present, you could customize it with anything you want including pictures! I think the Frosted Wine Bottle is my favorite one.

I also love that they provide a variety of different ideas and will do whatever they can to help you personalize your bottle to your satisfaction. Check out their Pinterest boards here!

I'm an not by any means a wine drinker, I only drink wine on special occasions-- weddings, anniversaries, etc. Although, the bottles with personalized pictures looked cool, I decided to get something simple and sweet for my hubby-- an inside joke and a cheesy phrase. Perfect for us!

For your next special occasion or company party, consider Storyteller Engraving for your special wine needs!

Connect with Storyteller Engraving on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest!

Rufus and Ryan Go To Church Board Book Review and Giveaway

Rufus and Ryan Go To Church! is an adorable board book written by Kathleen Long Bostrom and Illustrated by Rebecca Thornburgh. This wonderful little story takes readers through a day of church-- the singing, the service, the prayers, and even snack time! Its purpose is to familiarize young children with what happens during church and encourage them to talk about it and feel a part of it.

Baby Z and I love this book and we read it every night. It's pretty accurate about what happens at our kid-friendly church. The only difference is instead of snacks and juice, we get milk and donuts so we talk about that. "Look! They get juice and cookies! What do we eat at church? We get donuts and milk!"  Rufus and Ryan Go To Church is the first book of this series that we've had the pleasure of owning. Right now, there is also Rufus and Ryan Say Their Prayers out as well. I can't wait to get a hold of that one to add to our night story/prayer time!

About the Rufus and Ryan
Rufus and Ryan is a new series of books for preschoolers, featuring Ryan, an energetic little boy, and his stuffed monkey Rufus. Basic Christian and church concepts serve as the foundation of the series, with an additional focus on character traits and development. The text is presented in young Ryan’s voice as he teaches Rufus about the concepts he is learning himself. Each story is about 150 words, using age-appropriate vocabulary and themes.

WHO is this book for?
- Children ages 2 to 5 and their parents, grandparents
- These faith-based board books make great gifts during any season: Christmas, Easter, baby
- Toddler birthday
- Gift from grandparents
- Gift for your child's Sunday School teacher of children's minister
- Perfect for church nurseries, Sunday school classes, preschools, and church worship settings

Kid Fresh Review

Let's face it the cold, hard facts-- families are busy! One of the biggest problems I find with being busy is trying to find a fast, healthy meal for Baby Z. It also doesn't help that she happens to be the world's pickiest eater! Well, my picky eater and I were lucky enough to try a few KidFresh frozen meals to see if we liked them. I love that they are convenient and delicious without having to sacrifice nutrition! We got to try out two different flavors:

First we tried the Wagon Wheels Mac & Cheese. The Mac and Cheese is made with real grated cheddar and creamy cheese sauce with hidden vegetables. Baby Z has just gotten the hang of her fork so she's been obsessed with noodles so I was hoping she'd like this one but it was risk with the hidden veggies! I was pleasantly surprised that she ate it right up-- hidden veggies and all! I tried some and it tasted great, you could tell it was all natural and I couldn't taste any vegetables at all!

Next we got to try the Rainbow Rice and Chicken. Prepared with a tasty rice blend, colorful veggies and tender pieces of all natural white chicken, it was a huge hit at our house. Z loves rice so I knew she'd be a fan of this one but I wasn't so sure she would go for the vegetables but she surprised me and ate quite a bit! I think this would be a more complete meal if there were scrambled eggs mixed in but I love it as a base for a quick meal!

Pro:

  • All Natural
  • No artificial flavors
  • No artificial colors
  • No preservatives
  • BPA-free and Green packaging
  • Hidden veggies
  • Minimally processed

Cons:

  • They're a bit on the pricey side, at around $2.99 apiece (at least at my Kroger) but they are worth it to me!

Overall, I think these all-natural KidFresh meals are a great alternative to unhealthy frozen meals and I plan to always have a few in my freezer for those days that I'm just too busy or tired to cook a healthy meal! I love that they have hidden (and some not-so-hidden) vegetables to balance out the meals! I really look forward to trying out all the different meals!

Check out their NEW Super Duper Chicken Nuggets™ here
I am looking forward to trying those next!

Meijer Fall Fashion Review

I love everything about Fall... The smells, the leaves, the chilly air, pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING, and of course fall fashion! My favorite (and only) sister-in-law, Ashley, came into town this past weekend and Meijer sent us off to their store to try out their new Fall Fashions! Needless to say, we didn't turn down the opportunity! The two of us are already big fans of Meijer so we were very excited to go through their new fall clothes! These are our favorite finds:

Isn't she pretty?? I just love her!
 Ashley's Outfit:
Jeans- Ariya Jeans $28
Shirt- Almost Famous $12
Sweater- Massini $24
Scarf- $15

This outfit was so easy to put together and Ashley really wanted to accessorize it with a scarf so we spent quite a bit of time in the scarf section. Truth be told, all of the scarves looked great with this outfit! It would so easy to personalize this look for yourself or someone else by just switching out the scarf or choosing a different sweater color!

Stuck On You Review and Giveaway {Four Winners!}

As you all know, Baby Z has a "unique" name so I love all things that can be personalized for my baby girl! The products at Stuck On You are some of the best quality of personalized products I've seen so I was really excited to get the chance to pick some of their products to review!

All of their stuff is really cute and the personalization choices are endless so it took me awhile to choose what I wanted but in the end I chose a personalized lunchbox, personalized drink bottle, personalized short pj bottoms, and a personalized children’s apron. Stuck On You accidentally printed out an art smock for me instead of an apron so they sent me the smock AND they'll be sending me an apron as well. I'm pretty sure they made the most awesome mistake ever!!

Wearing her art smock as she colors. Notice she also has her drink bottle near her (always).

The BEST Taco Salad Recipe

As summer comes to an end, I thought I'd share one of my favorite summer recipes (I know, great timing, right?). My mom has been making Taco Salad for as long as I can remember and with how easy and quick it is to throw together, it has become a summer staple in my own house. Here's how we make it:

Ingredients:

1 bag of lettuce
1 bag Doritos
1 bag of sharp cheddar cheese
1 bottle Catalina dressing
1 lb ground beef
1 package taco seasoning

Directions:

1. Brown ground beef and drain. Add taco seasoning and follow package directions.
2. Add some cheese while it is still warm (this is the secret to making this taco salad better than others!).
3. Allow meat to cool slightly. If you aren't using it right away, keep it in the fridge.
2. Just before serving, add everything together and toss.

I keep extras of all the ingredients on the table so people can add more of them if they like. The best part about this recipe is that its not an exact science. It doesn't matter how much cheese you throw on the hot meat, just put your preference (we prefer A LOT!). We also love this with a ton of Catalina dressing and Doritos! You could also add tomatoes or black olives into this recipe and I bet it would taste really good!

Emerson Creek Pottery Review, Coupon Code, and Giveaway

As you all know, I love baking. I may not be a Domestic Goddess but I could probably qualify to be a Baking Goddess! One look at the bakeware from Emerson Creek Pottery and I knew I HAD to have something from them. It wasn't long before I was daydreaming of my favorite banana bread (recipe can be found here) in one of their ceramic loaf pans. You could say it was love at first sight or maybe I was just hungry!

Isn't it so beautiful? I LOVE it!
I chose to get a Small American Blue Loaf Pan and it is the perfect size for gift-giving. I usually don't bake for individuals because it takes too long to bake one batch per person but that changes this year! My family will be very thankful I have this small pan come Christmastime! I get so excited when I think about how perfect it will be for the holiday season-- I will be able to make one batch and give it to 4 different people!

Teespring: Design and Sell T-shirts

Teespring is a wonderful website for fundraisers or if you just want to make some extra money! It is by far the best website I've seen for designing and selling apparel. It's so easy and anyone can design a shirt and sell it on Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else online.

It's really simple to use! Just design a shirt, set a selling price and goal, and add a description to start selling. There are no out of pocket expenses and no upfront costs. Once you collect enough pre-orders to reach your goal, Teespring will print and ship the shirts directly to the customers while you keep the profit!

Bluapple Review and Giveaway {3 winners!}

We buy a lot of produce in our house but for some odd reason, it never seems to last long; within days of bringing most fruit home, it spoils. Which is why I am so happy to have found Bluapple! I was so excited to get them that I instantly ripped the package open and put one in my fruit basket with a couple of apples and I put the other in my vegetable crisper with blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries.

BluApple works by absorbing ethylene gas (which is given off naturally by fruits and vegetables). If ethylene gas builds up in your produce storage area, it speeds the ripening process and accelerates ripening. Simply place a BluApple where you keep your fruits and vegetables and you'll be amazed at how much longer they will last without spoiling! Each BluApple can absorb ethylene gas in a typical refrigerator, produce bin, or storage container for about three months (refill packets are available).

Crayon Rocks Review and Giveaway

I had first heard about Crayon Rocks from a friend and I knew I just had to try them! I reached out to Barbara and asked her if Baby Z and I could review them and she quickly sent me some samples. Words cannot express how impressed I am with these crayons. I cannot believe they are not in used in schools everywhere!

The creator of Crayon Rocks, Barbara Lee, taught children with special needs for 23 years. She created them after learning how important it was for children to develop a good tripod grip early. From her website, "Since a child's first writing tool is usually a crayon, that crayon should be one that encourages him or her to use thumb, first and second fingers in a tripod grip.  This is what makes Crayon Rocks a wonderful tool for fine motor development."

Lucy's Gluten-Free Cookies Review

I was so excited to get a chance to try Lucy's Gluten-Free Cookies! I took these to my sister's house and we split them among six people and needless to say, they were gone within minutes. They were so delicious and we couldn't even tell they were gluten-free and vegan. We wanted to do something different and "summer-y" for our End of Summer get together so we decided to make homemade ice cream sandwiches with them!

All you need is Lucy's Gluten-Free Cookies (I highly recommend the chocolate), ice-cream, and chocolate chips or sprinkles. Put a scoop of ice cream in between two cookies and roll the edges of the ice cream in the sprinkles or chocolate chips! They taste the best if you throw them in the freezer and let the ice cream harden a bit. Of course we chose the hottest day of the summer to do this and we were impatient so we didn't let the ice cream harden all the way but they were still drippingly delicious anyway! The kids really, really enjoyed them.

Pros:

  • Gluten-Free
  • Vegan
  • All-natural
  • Non-GMO
  • Zero trans-fat
  • Zero cholesterol
  • Taste amazing

Cons:

  • The nearest store that carries these is 25 miles away from me.

I'm going to buy some more because these would make an AWESOME gluten-free substitute for graham crackers when making s'mores and they even have the chocolate built in already! But I really can't wait to try all of the flavors of Lucy's Gluten-Free Cookies.

You can connect with Lucy's Cookies on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and their website.

Buy it! You can buy Lucy's Cookies online at Amazon or use the store locater to see where you can find them near you here!

DIY Box Top Container

School starts for most of Michigan today so I thought this post would themed perfectly for the day!
I was feeling crafty all of a sudden a couple days ago so I decided to tackle something I've been putting off for over a year now and I'm so happy with the results!

I've been collecting Box Tops even though Baby Z doesn't go to school yet because I know some kids somewhere could benefit so why not?? I literally collect hundreds of Box Tops throughout the year and I've been putting them in a baggie and throwing them in my junk drawer. Well, I will no longer have to do that!

All I used for this project was an empty bread crumbs container, paper, glue, stickers, a box cutter, and a marker. This would also be a great project for kids to help make so just have fun with it! Baby Z helped with the stickers!

Here's my "Before" picture.

Didn't Baby Z do a great job with the stickers??

Can't forget the top!

Do you collect Box Tops? How do you store them?
