"Can't-Wait Willow" Children's Book Review and Giveaway

Can't-Wait Willow! is an adorable children's book written by Christy Ziglar and Illustrated by Luanne Marten. This beautifully illustrated story follows Willow as she makes her way to the Over-The-Top Circus that she has been looking forward to! The only problem is, that on the way to the show, she is distracted by enticing treats and fun that she just can’t turn down. Willow arrives late and is sad to find that, not only has she has run out of time, but money as well, and she won't be able to enjoy the pink cotton candy she’s been dreaming of. Willow is given valuable advice and a second chance and is ultimately taught the lesson that sometimes in life you have to say “no” to good things to end up with something great!

"Sometimes you've got to say 'no' to the good, so you can say 'yes' the best." -Zig Ziglar

We absolutely love Can't-Wait Willow! and we have read it at least once a day since receiving it. One of my favorite aspects of this adorably sweet book is the star that follows Willow. When Willow makes wise, thoughtful decisions, the star looks happy and bright. When Willow makes choices that might not be the best, the star looks dim and deflated. This is gives readers and their parents a great opportunity to talk about why star might look and feel a certain way.

I love that this book is written in a way that can speak clearly to young children about making choices and it shows them why even though something might seem like a good decision in a moment, maybe something better will happen if they are patient. This is a lesson that I feel is just so important to grasp when growing up-- Think before you make decisions. Just because it feels like a good idea at the moment, doesn't mean its a good idea in the long run. I can't wait to see the next book in this adorable series!
