Collage.com Photo Book Review & 51% Off Discount!

I've mentioned Collage.com on my blog before and since I love photography, its only natural that I mention it again. I actually got the chance to review two different sizes of photo books from Collage.com: one 11.5" x 8" Hardcover Photo Book and one 8"x 6" softcover photo book. I titled the hardcover one "Z's Second Year" and obviously filled it with pictures of Z's second year of life. I titled the smaller softcover book "Grandma's Little Angels" and filled it with photos of all three of my mother-in-law's grandchildren! I think this will make such a great present for her. I originally bought it thinking I would hold onto it til Christmas but I'm so excited about it and her birthday is this weekend so I don't know if I'll be able to wait til Christmas!

Since I am a perfectionist and this is not my first (or my second) photo book, I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and my expectations were pretty high. This was my first time using Collage.com for a photo book (although I have bought a photo canvas from them before). One of the first things I noticed when creating the photo book was that the site is really easy to navigate and figure out. Its one of the most user-friendly sites for photo book making that I have used. You can save your work and come back to it so you don't have to finish it all at one time.

Another thing that makes Collage.com photo books stand out is Collage.com's new One-Click Photo Book. It is actually the fastest photo book builder available. Their innovative auto-placement engine instantly suggests a perfect layout, placing photos of any size in chronological order over the desired number of pages. This is such a quick and easy way to make a photo book if you're looking for that. I prefer a more controlled, customized approach though so I didn't use it.

One of the biggest tips I can give you is if you really want to customize your book, do it in Free Form Mode, it makes it easier to adjust the shape and sizes of the pictures to make sure they turn out just the way you want. Its a really cool option to have and I wish I would've started using it sooner.

One of the coolest things about Collage.com is the background choices. None of the other sites I've used for photo books have offered background choices like that. You can use all of the backgrounds on either individual pages, the front cover, or the back cover! I was hoping I could use another picture on the back cover (you can use a picture on the front cover) but I wasn't so disappointed that I couldn't when I saw how cool the background choices were.

Pros:

  • Superior professional quality
  • Background choices are really cool
  • A lot of photo editting choices
  • Can use photos from Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, or your computer

Cons:

  • Cant place a photo on back cover of book

Overall, our photo books turned out better than I imagined! I love the feel of the pages and the quality of the photos. I was originally worried about the quality of the smaller softcover book but it turned out so great that I think I like it more than the other one! I recommend Collage.com if you are looking for a professional looking photo book for any occasion. This would make such a great gift for a parent or grandparent!

My favorite thing about Collage.com? They ALWAYS have coupons! Right now you can use this link for 51% off a 20-page 11.5"x8" Hardcover Photo Book (like the one I reviewed) from Collage.com: http://bit.ly/collagepbdeal
