The BEST Taco Salad Recipe

As summer comes to an end, I thought I'd share one of my favorite summer recipes (I know, great timing, right?). My mom has been making Taco Salad for as long as I can remember and with how easy and quick it is to throw together, it has become a summer staple in my own house. Here's how we make it:

Ingredients:

1 bag of lettuce
1 bag Doritos
1 bag of sharp cheddar cheese
1 bottle Catalina dressing
1 lb ground beef
1 package taco seasoning

Directions:

1. Brown ground beef and drain. Add taco seasoning and follow package directions.
2. Add some cheese while it is still warm (this is the secret to making this taco salad better than others!).
3. Allow meat to cool slightly. If you aren't using it right away, keep it in the fridge.
2. Just before serving, add everything together and toss.

I keep extras of all the ingredients on the table so people can add more of them if they like. The best part about this recipe is that its not an exact science. It doesn't matter how much cheese you throw on the hot meat, just put your preference (we prefer A LOT!). We also love this with a ton of Catalina dressing and Doritos! You could also add tomatoes or black olives into this recipe and I bet it would taste really good!

  6. Wow - this sounds so yummy! I'm going to try it with ground turkey instead of the beef - and I'm sure it will be just as delicious!
