Michigan Renaissance Festival Discount!

One of my favorite things to do during the Fall in Michigan is go to the Michigan Renaissance Festival! Kevin and Z have never gone before and it's been a few years since I've been able to make it out there so we are all really excited to check it out this year. If you've never been, you have no idea how much fun you are missing out on! Many families all over Michigan have made this a yearly tradition and for good reason too; you can't beat the food, entertainment, or the shops!

"Take a time-travel adventure into the 16th century at the 37th annual Michigan Renaissance Festival! Join our Queen Elizabeth in a jubilee! Inside our turreted gates, visitors enjoy the sights and sounds of a 17-acre village, complete with building reproductions of Renaissance shops, taverns and a magnificent castle. Continuous entertainment takes place on the streets and on 17 themed stages; featuring full-contact armored jousting, comedy and theater shows, music, games, people-powered rides and so much more! Fabulous food and more than 300 artisans displaying their gallery-quality works complete the experience! Join us weekends and Labor day August 22nd thru October 4th! Plus Festival Friday on October 2nd."

I'm so excited to share that my readers save $3 Off Gate Admission!

Our Visit To Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village

Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village
Frightfully Fun for the Whole Family!
October 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26, 2014

Tonight my husband, Z, my mom, and I were lucky enough to go to Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village and it was so much more fun than I expected! The weather was perfect, the displays and costumes were amazing, and we had such a great time. I love that this is a kid-friendly, nightmare-free Halloween gathering. Some of it was a little on the scary side but my two year old really, really enjoyed all of it. When you walk into the Village, you even receive a plastic Halloween bag for the candy that is given out during the event! We had such a great time that we are planning on making this an annual tradition for our family. Check out all of the pictures of our trip that were taken by my wonderful husband!

When you go in, you follow a mile-long, curving path illuminated by the flickering light of hand-carved jack-o'-lanterns and meet classic costumed characters along the way. Feel the chilly whoosh of air as the Headless Horseman rides out of the shadows of Firestone Farm’s fields, and banter with witches, wizards and dancing skeletons. They’re everywhere along Jack-o’-Lantern Boulevard. Z's favorite part was the giant singing jack-o-lanterns! .

I'm sad this last one was blurry but I wanted to include a photo of Z's favorite part!
You still have time to stroll down the streets and alleys that are haunted by over 1,000 carved jack-o’-lanterns and lavishly costumed characters during America’s most spooktacular Halloween event.
