Happy October, y'all! Z and I celebrated the start of the season by getting our house ready for Halloween! Coincidentally, the day we were decorating, we received the best themed package we could! We were sent a really cute Halloween Glow-in-the-Dark Tote Bag and 3 Fabric Markers from Colortime Crafts! My little artist was so excited when this arrived in the mail! She ripped open the package right by the front door and made me take pictures right then and there so she could get to work on her new trick-or-treat bag asap! 

I was really impressed with the quality of the bag and especially the markers! The markers are perfect for little kids-- large and easy to hold, and the coloring point is small enough for the smaller coloring areas but large enough to color a big area quickly. It was easy to use and fun to decorate according to Z! By far, her favorite part of the bag is that it glows-in-the-dark! Frightfully Fun for the Whole Family!

Greenfield Village is one of my family's favorite places to explore in Metro Detroit and it's even more fun to visit during their special events! We were beyond thrilled when we got invited to attend Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village again this year. We had so many great memories from last year and we were very excited to see what new things were waiting for us this year! Well, the weather was perfect, the displays and characters were as charismatic as ever, and we had such a memorable time.

I love that this is a kid-friendly, nightmare-free Halloween gathering. Some of it was a little on the scary side but my three year old has loved it both years we went. When you walk into the Village, you even receive a plastic Halloween bag so you can collect the candy that is given out during the event!

New this year, Greenfield Village welcomed the Top Hat Sideshow, a carnival vaudeville act that brings the spirit and thrills of the traveling sideshows and carnivals of the early 1900s. This traveling carnival included sword swallowing, fire breathing, life threatening escapes, mind reading, death-defying sideshow stunts, as well as mind-bending illusions with a comedic flair. We arrived just in time to see the fire breathing and Z was simply mesmerized by it!

One of our favorite features of the Hallowe'en celebrations are the thousands of jack-o-lanterns that line the path. They are each unique and I think there were even more this year than there were last year! We have had such a great time that we have decided to officially make Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village an annual tradition for our family. Baby's First Halloween Costume-- Infant Owl Costume from Costume SuperCenter!

Halloween is coming up fast, do you have your costumes picked out yet? Z has had her costume picked out for months so I wanted to focus on the newest member of our family. What should baby's first Halloween costume be? Z was a ladybug for her first Halloween and she looked so sweet! I wanted Baby Girl to have an adorable first Halloween costume as well so I went on a search of the cutest baby costumes I could find! Thanks to Costume Supercenter, I found the adorable What A Hoot Owl Infant Toddler Costume!

This colorful costume features a comfortable zippered brown plush body suit with light blue, green and white feather details on the front and sleeves, a matching brown headpiece with big blue, white and black owl eyes, an orange beak, pointy ears and a large face opening for safety and comfort. It also comes with precious orange owl footies that have skid-resistant yellow material on the bottoms. 

If you want your little one to be an owl, this adorable costume can't be beat and it goes all the way up to size 2T! The What A Hoot Owl Costume really is a hoot and all of the kids in my family took turns trying on the owl headpiece. I can't wait to see my gorgeous baby girl in this costume!

Unfortunately, my model was not able to stay still long enough for me to take good pictures so Z wore the owl hat for me and I had to make do with close up photos of the costume itself! I figured since you can't see the costume in person when ordering online (obviously) it would help if you could see close up pictures of what the costume actually looks like! It is truly adorable and I'm incredibly happy with it. It's super soft and it will keep baby warm during the cold Halloween night.

The colors are brilliantly vibrant and the brown fabric is so incredibly soft. This is truly the perfect costume for Baby's First Halloween! I adore the booties that it comes with and they will keep the baby's feet nice and warm. I also really appreciate the snaps at the bottom of the costume for easy diaper changes. This is an incredibly well thought out costume and it will get tons of compliments!

Since I grew up in Metro Detroit, I've been to Greenfield Village several times throughout my life and each time I go, its more fun than the last! My family and I had the pleasure of going to Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village last year and it was more fun than we ever imagined so we are really excited that we get the chance to go back again this year and see all of their newest additions!
