Snow Cream Recipe

Today we woke up to a winter wonderland... and then it didn't stop snowing. Its up to about a foot now. Needless to say, we stayed home today. Now onto the deliciousness that is called Snow Cream... Snow Cream is not anything new, in fact families have been making it for several years but I don't believe I had ever had it before this year. And it is good. Amazingly good. So good that it is now going to be a winter family tradition for us!

Ingredients
1 cup milk
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
8 cups clean snow

Directions
In a large bowl whisk milk, sugar, vanilla and salt together until combined. Stir some fresh clean snow into the milk mixture until you reach your desired consistency. This should be fluffy and not runny, but it melts quickly, so serve immediately. Top with sprinkles if you wish!

That's it! This is probably the shortest recipe I've ever had on the blog but 5 simple ingredients and less than 5 minutes of your time is all that's needed for this yummy goodness! Happy Snow Day!

  4. My grandson is determined to eat the snow but he eats it on the sneak. I think I'll tell him we can pick out our snow together and make a treat. We have far to many pets in this neighborhood and in this house for him to choose his own snow!

  5. Unfortunately it hasn't snowed at all here in My part of NC this year.....while the northeast is getting blizzards the temperature here it is warm enough for short sleeve shirts... But the next time we get enough snow, I plan on making some snowcream!

  6. We certainly had a lot of snow in NY after our blizzard. This would be really fun to try and make one day.
